MEET EVAN

Hi! I’m Evan Watson, a yogi who is out to live life as full as possible and teach others to do the same! I was raised traveling to remote locations, taught to appreciate the personal growth that comes with stepping outside of my comfort zone. Exploring the wonders of this planet and connecting to people from a soul level are at the core of who I am. From scuba diving after sharks at age 11, living with locals in a remote Philippine village and starting a yoga wellness business at the start of a pandemic, my intuitive spirit has always carried me along the way.
At age 15, I took my first step into a sunrise yoga class with my dad. I went in thinking that I was supporting him and left knowing that I had found my “thing”, recognizing a calm, collected, and focused self that was not my norm.
While studying Cultural Anthropology at Sewanee: The University of the South, I developed a life mission to connect with people through similarities and learn through the differences. Being an island girl, this is also when I grew a fascination for mountain life, hiking and biking through the breathtaking Cumberland Plateau. The practice of yoga was slowly becoming a part of me, more than just an exercise. I was beginning to see myself the way God had intended. This was liberating and I wanted more of it, so I went off to the Philippines for Peace Corps service to learn what connection was really about.
To readjust back to American culture, I began a 200-hour yoga teacher training in my hometown of St. Simons Island, GA. Upon completion in June 2016, I moved to Asheville, NC to obtain a Master of Science in Sustainability Studies at Lenoir-Rhyne University. Teaching yoga around the city was my financial support during this time and I was mentored by some of the best yoga teachers in the U.S.!
The coastline and my family were pulling me deeper south, so I moved to Charleston, SC, where I am intentionally setting down roots today. My business, Flow Into Yoga, is guided by the qualities I’ve learned along the way to provide for an abundant life – connection, freedom, sustainability, presence and wellness.
When you’re an explorer, it’s only natural to get lost along the way. Yoga has taught me how to stay calm when I no longer recognize where I am and to trust that my own intuition will lead me to where I need to be. I hope to have the privilege of guiding you towards finding, listening, and nurturing your spirit in the beautiful Greek islands!
